The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup marks a historic milestone as the tournament expands to 32 teams and is hosted in the United States for the first time. Champion clubs from across Europe, South America, North America, Asia, Africa, and other regions will compete for the prestigious title of the world’s top club team.

Looking ahead to 2026, the FIFA World Cup will also break records, featuring 48 national teams from around the world and further establishing the United States as a central hub for global soccer.

In his role as VMO, Dr. Gillogly will be responsible for overseeing all medical operations at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and in Atlanta. He will coordinate care for participating teams, VIP guests, and FIFA staff across the Atlanta region. Working in close collaboration with the FIFA Tournament Lead, Director of Medical Administration, and Host City Medical Lead, Dr. Gillogly will help establish local healthcare partnerships and develop elite medical care pathways for athletes and high-profile attendees. He will also ensure that the Field of Play and Player Medical Centre teams are fully prepared and serve as the primary point of contact for team doctors seeking medical support throughout the tournament.

“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Gillogly and excited to see his expertise recognized on the world stage,” said Kaleigh Raulerson, Physician Liaison at Georgia Bone & Joint Surgeons. “His appointment is a testament to his leadership in orthopedic care and dedication to athlete health and performance at the highest level.”
